How to Turn Jogging Stroller to a Bike Trailer
Get all the supplies you need to convert the existing stroller.
The things you require are:
- The original stroller that you wish to convert.
- 14-16 Hex bolts
- 14-16 nuts
- 14-16 locking washers
- washers according to be used in spaces
- hitch pin with the r clip
- caster wheel (should be flat and of those four bolt pattern that matches with your existing stroller)
- L-frame steel (later drilled holes accordingly)
- The bike that you want to attach the trailer to
Remove the front protective covering of the stroller. It is the part just above the single front wheel. There is a cushion. Remove it to expose the metal structure that holds the front wheel.
Position the trailer and the bike in front of the other. Keep at least a gap of 10-14 inches between the two. Get the measurement and remember to attachment fame one-sided. The reason to make the frame one-sided is that it will be effective while taking corner along with your bike.
Another thing while measuring the attachment remember to keep both the trailer and the bike grounder. None should be hanging after being attached.
Make the frame. Cut accordingly to the lengths, drill where it needs to be to provide the best support and remember to make your design L-shaped. Use washers and bolts according to need so that the frame gets strong and durable. It is important for you will be taking it on cycling and it can experience bumpy rods.
At both ends of the attachment, provide proper hitch attachment. These two sides will get attached to the two ends of the stroller and the bike. It is the only thing that keeps both the trailer and the bike attached. Provide proper attachment strength.
Now it is time to attach the stroller and the bike with the frame that you have made. Attach one end of the frame with the stroller and use the required number of washers and bolts to provide the best strength.
Attach the other end with the caster of your bike. Remove it from the wheels, attach the trailer with the frame, then close it with the required number of hitch bolt and pin at specific places.
After you are done with transforming the stroller into a bike trailer, take it on some few test drives without your child on it. See the durability and if there is, fix the issues before finally taking it while you cycle with your child.
Always remember to maintain the complete safety of you and your child.
